Welcome to the September Blue Planet update. Hard to believe summer is already coming to a close.
Gen Con
Gen Con was a blast, and the highlight was surely playing Blue Planet. I ran only a single open session, which nonetheless turned out to be full of supporters of BP, and it was awesome. I ran our classic con scenario Where the Wild Things Are, and they nailed it - the role play, the investigation, the unexpected twist into horror. One of the best sessions I’ve ever run.
I also ran a KS backers-only session (during a tornado warning even) and it was every bit as great. We played the first con appearance of Down on the Farm - a wildlife mystery set on the Bright Savannah reserve, providing an uncommonly terrestrial, hybrid-focused view of Poseidon. I’ve said it before, but having a table full of cool folks who already know and like the game enough to back it on Kickstarter makes for the very best RPG experience. Thank you to the whole crew for the amazing session.
I had so much fun with these sessions, that I think next year, rather than sign up to play as many other games as I did, I’ll instead just run Blue Planet for the whole show. Seriously.
Bundle of Holding
We had the opportunity to partner with Allen V. over at Bundle of Holding to offer deep discounts on the Blue Planet: Recontact PDFs. If you were a backer and have friends who missed out on the original campaign, this is their most economical way to get to Poseidon. If you regret not backing yourself - what are you waiting for? It's the best time to dive in!
Future Updates
Since this is the 101st Kickstarter update, and the core rewards have been delivered, I feel there is less need for monthly messages. Accordingly, I am officially moving to an “as needed” or “when particularly interesting” Blue Planet update schedule. If you have questions you are always encouraged to contact us directly, but going forward updates will only happen when there is something particularly valuable to share, and not just because it’s the first of the month.
Thank you for the constant and unwavering support. This project was only successful because of your enthusiasm, generosity and patience. Majalo.
