Last month was short. This update is even shorter.

Campaigns

I realize that Blue Planet: Recontact has not been in everyone's hands for long, but I would love folks to share in the comments about any BP campaigns they are running or planning to run. I am always curious about what other GMs get up to on Poseidon and would love to hear about it below.

Storm Surge

Though the writing has not been going fast, it has been fun, which is odd. Truth is, I love creating, but I've never really liked actually writing. I know that sounds unlikely given we just delivered a game of over 600,000 words, but here we are. I'm not sure what's making the actual process of putting down words more enjoyable at the moment, but I'm definitely taking advantage of the extra motivation it provides.

Until last week, I hadn't planned to go to GenCon 2026, and I definitely hadn't planned to run any official events, but what a difference a few days makes. Not only am I going, but I've even signed up to run a couple of official Biohazard Games...games.

I decided to go because I've a lot of friends around the country who I don't otherwise get to see who converge on Indianapolis every year. I decided to run some official events because doing so at GenCon felt like an appropriate kind of punctuation at the end of the long BP production road. I'll be running both Blue Planet: Recontact and Upwind, so look to sign up for those when the events schedule comes out in May.

Like I did last year, I am intending to run another backers-only Blue Planet game at this year's show. I had such a blast, I am excited to do it again. As a GM, there is no better table than one full of players so invested in a game that they backed the crowdfunding campaign. They know the setting, most of the rules and are just super-enthusiastic - all ingredients for the perfect storm of a game. If you are interested in participating in this "off-the-books" event, I'll be sharing details in a later update.
